Romney is too polished not to have had a battle plan this entire time. From the moment he prematurely dropped out of the race four years ago, I bet he's been meticulously lining up his support. Watch the endorsements for Romney slowly reach a crescendo before Iowa. Perry screwed up by banking on playing "the alternative candidate" and expecting it to go anywhere.
