Good?

_December 20, 2011 (TPATH) _ (http://www.tpath,org/) - Generally when I
write an editorial or an article on a particular subject or individual my
complete attention is put on being correct and hopefully entertaining and
enlightening. While I am purposefully sardonic, I try to be civil and my
concern is always getting the point across and not whether or not some leftist
gets his feelings bruised.

However, today its different. Having put off writing this for as long as
possible, now I need to take on some very, very good friends and wonderful
people. Many good, honest and great patriots, who have been absorbed in
the tangle of some wonderful rhetoric and have allowed themselves to be
blinded in the murkiness of outrageous and dangerous policies.

Seeing, sensing and feeling the almost cultish support Ron Paul evokes
lets me know I will no doubt be castigated by many for what I write here
today. Know you all, I have no intent to disparage or demean any of you for
your support of Mr. Paul. It is easy to understand the backing for him on so
many issues. I myself have stood and cheered at many of the statements he
 has made.

How does one endeavor to explain and describe his positions in such a way
as to not appear to be acerbic, hurtful or hateful? I don't know if I am
able, but here I try.

Before getting into the dangers of the hard-line Libertarian positions
that Ron Paul espouses, it is important to note, those are the views which
are the source of my trepidation and they should concern even the most ardent
supporter of Mr. Paul, as well.

It is also understood, that some of the people who support Ron Paul are
aware of his extreme views and they may even agree with them. This writing,
of course, is not for them. This article is being authored for those that
may not be aware of his risky and potentially perilous positions.

Reading Facebook and other social websites, I find many of Paul's
followers playing down, mollifying or placating some of his more drastic
views.
The impetus for those people may stem from the actual belief that Ron Paul is
being demonized and his positions exaggerated. For certain we have no way
of knowing, but my determination that Ron Paul would be a very real danger
has been formulated, not by what others have said or reported, but from
what I have heard or seen Paul say or espouse.

Before I go on, one of my dear friends noted that Ron Paul's appearance on
Jay Leno was quite wonderful and that Jay clearly liked Ron. Well, that
may be, but before we get all worked up over Leno's admiration, it should be
remembered that Mr. Leno is a liberal. Last year he was quoted as saying,
"Conservative? I'm not one of them." Mr. Leno would like nothing better
than to build up Paul's base hoping that it will eventually split the
conservative vote. Don't doubt that for a moment. Leno weaseled Ron into an
unsubstantiated racial attack on Michele Bachmann becasue she understands and
has taken a position on the dangers inherent in radical Islam. Of course
Leno couldn't care less about Islam, but it sure was nice to see one
Republican trashing another.

Some Areas of Concern

Military, Defense and Foreign Policy
Members of Congress are required by statute to take an oath to protect and
defend the Constitution and the President is required, by the
Constitution, to take a similar oath.

Ron Paul, one who continually preaches, and rightly so, the excesses of
lawmakers concerning the Constitution, ignores the most important requirement
set down by our founding fathers with his isolationism, disdain for a
strong military or intervention anywhere in the world where a danger to this
country may be festering.

For any member of Congress or any President to roll up the "drawbridge" on
the boundaries of this country and allow threats to our energy supply,
economic stability and our allies, would not only be perilous to the future,
it would represent a total breach of the oaths they have sworn to.

While it is certain that our diplomats and leaders have made errors in the
past, and some very costly, the penalty for sitting back and granting
unfettered despotism to dominate the world outside our borders is unrealistic
and treacherous. Without a United States of America there is no US
Constitution. Without America there will be no freedom or prosperity anywhere
in
the world.

Heroine and Drugs
As a Libertarian Mr.Paul's positions on government intervention on the
private lives of American citizens is of course, a good one. But as with
every aspect of the human condition, too much of anything, is never a good
thing.

No one can deny that crime will go down if all drugs are legalized as will
the huge cost of arrest, prosecution and incarceration. But at what
price? How many generations would it take for our children and their children
to become numb to the dangers of drug addiction if drugs are accepted, legal
and available? Of course, if heroine is made legal today, Americans will
not run out tomorrow and start doing drugs, as Ron Paul naively pointed
out. Can we take the chance that our children and theirs will not?
_Listen to his remarks here:_
(http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=GFcuAPjBpiA)

As with hiding behind isolationist walls, releasing drugs into our
children's environment will not create immediate destruction, but will
certainly
lay the groundwork for future devastation.

ISRAEL
It would be unfair and wrong for anyone to tag Ron Paul as an Anti-Semite.
I do not believe he is, but having said that, his isolationist views,
relating to any society or problem occurring outside our borders and his
particular identification of Israel as being a burden to peace, have given the
appearance to some that his positions may be inclined in that direction, and
therefore, many of his more vocal and energetic followers support him, for
just that reason. Understand that I am not accusing any of the Tea Party
people supporting Ron Paul to be doing so for that reason. His positions on
spending and government overreach are what has drawn Tea Party people to
him.

No one can deny the growth of anti-semitism, not only in the Middle East,
but Europe and here in America. Those that espouse that degenerate
ideology may have clung to the Paul campaign supposing they have found an
outlet
for their particular prejudice . This is only a caution. Make sure your
feathers don't flock with inappropriate birds.

IRAN and Nuclear Proliferation
A complete and absolute naivety of Ron Paul, when he says Iran is no more
a danger to explode a nuclear weapon than the Soviet Union, is as scary as
anything or any position Paul has taken.

The MAD system (Mutually Assured Destruction) the entire world lived under
for nearly 30 years, worked for one reason. While it was true both sides
despised the others political and economic positions, neither side could
afford to start a nuclear war. Neither side wanted to see the end of the
world.

Ron Paul, apparently never having listened to the way Iran's leader ends
almost every speech where he pines for the return of the 12th Imam,
continues to think terrorists kill Americans because we have a military
presence in
some place or another.

The return of the 12th Imam, according to Islam, can only occur if the
world is in the process of Armageddon. They pine for his return for it will,
according to that book of love, the Koran, begin the murder, death and
annihilation of every infidel on earth and without regard to where one country
or another may have a military base.

The return of this 12th Imam, according the Mullahs, can be encouraged by
creating war and death. Does this sound like MAD will protect the world as
it did for several decades? Ron Paul believes it and is willing to take
the chance, at the cost of nuclear conflagration, that terrorists are sane
and rational.

I find it very hard to believe that any Tea Party person who has given of
himself because of the dangers facing this country could possibly support
anyone that would put our future in such jeopardy. I beg of all you
patriots, despite some of the on target statements from candidate Paul, please
look very carefully before you leap. Any good will be consumed by the bad and
the ugly.
