Kevin :
Any frontrunner in any contest for the WH can expect nothing less than
all-out
and unsentimental vetting. It comes with the territory.

As long as RP was a distant 3rd or 4th, few people cared. Now he has taken
the lead
in Iowa. If that lead was to hold up, the Republican Party could easily
destroy itself.
Not because Paul is so right about everything, but because his liabilities
are enormous.

For all the years he had a newsletter he was a racist, for starters. Guess
what ? The
presumptive Democratic candidate for 2012 is African-American. Guess what
else ?
All along RP has been lying about his past ( recent past, and for all
anyone knows
is still the case ), which is now documented. If he was nominated it would
be an unmitigated disaster.

As you may have noticed by now, the leader of the major faction of the Tea
Party
also reached the conclusion that it is the best policy to cut ties with
Paul. The man
clearly is an albatross. And not only because he is, or was, a racist, but
because his
thinly veiled anti-Zionist views come close to anti-Semitism, which, to the
 extent
this is true, is another huge problem for everyone.

Then there is Paul's virtually Leftist views of Islam --and Iran
specifically. He is
an appeaser, sees little or nothing problematic with Islam, yet has zero
serious knowledge
of the subject and, from what anyone can tell, has not even read one book
about it
and is, therefore, basing his policies on pure ignorance.

No point in discussing his economic views , which seem to be extreme
laissez faire.
RC is about finding the best kind of economic policy, with full knowledge
that
not only is Keynes filled with problems, so is laissez faire, and the best
thing to
do is to try and find some new system that takes into account the strengths
 and
weaknesses of each. RC is NOT about the glories of laissez faire and
Keynes is all wrong about everything. That kind of view is ANTI-Radical
Centrist
in case you had some other opinion.

About homosexuality, obviously you have not read anything I have written on
 the issue
or have only glossed the material sent around. Which, BTW, includes
research papers
by some very respected people in the field. And I simply do not give 2
cents if
others have some different uninformed opinion. If they cannot refute even
one point
in the papers made available at this site, what value do their opinions
have ?

But in case you misplaced your copy I will re-send the essay about
"homophobia."
I actually read your much longer book.. Maybe it would be a nice thing to
do to
actually read my paper. You just might learn something.

Sorry for the "attitude" here because, after all, you certainly are a
nice person with
good intentions and have a number of other good qualities, which you don't
need
me to point out. But it must be said that it has really gotten old to read
Ron Paul
e-mail "advertisements" just about every other day. This is a Radical
Centrist forum
rather than a Ron Paul soap box forum.

The point of this group is not to see who can be most conservative or most
libertarian,
but discussion of ideas as objectively as any of us can muster, or at least
 to keep
our favoritisms in reasonable bounds as we try to come up with new ideas
that
are not partisan, or at least are not partisan very much.

This includes freedom to be truthful. I'm not sure why it is suspect if I
say
that a large % of black people have criminal backgrounds, and that maybe
1/3rd
have cultural values that are dysfunctional. This is an actuarial truth.

Which is also a far cry from saying, as Paul did, that the percentages are
around 95 %.
And besides, I have also said, many times, that I am a fan of Allen West,
also of McWhorter
and Sowell, and last I looked they were not exactly Europeans.

Finally, all that any of us here are, are participants in a discussion
forum. None of us
has any "authority." What each of us do have is the responsibility to
speak out
in defense of principles. If others are persuaded, so much the better, but
it works
the other way too, and if I persuade someone, someone may persuade me
of something else. Which has happened often enough over the years.

I have also been wrong in the past. When I finally realize this I admit it
and then move on. In 2008 , for example, I took positions for both the
Democratic candidates and on the Republican side. Later I freely conceded
that any favorable things I may have said about Edwards were mistaken and
that
I must, in conscience, disavow those comments.

I was also pro-Huckabee in 2008. It turned out that, by 2009 some time,
he had sold out. From that time onward whenever the subject comes up,
thankfully rarely, I freely admit my mistake. But I'm not there any more,
there are other subjects to be concerned with.

Just maybe, with all the %#&@ coming out about RP now, you may
wish to consider that your enthusiasm has been misplaced.

Sincerely
Billy

Hello Billy:

We knew this would happen if Paul made it to the top of the scrap heap of
candidates. His ideas are too revolutionary for the status quo. A lot of
people would lose power and influence and lots of money were he to be
elected.

You are the guy that is pushing views about homosexuality that make most
people cringe. I also read a comment from you talking about higher crime in
areas where there are more blacks. And yet you are buying into this smear
campaign?

I've seriously questioned whether I could participate here and not have my
reputation tarnished because of association with those views of yours.

For Radical Centrists not to speak out at this time would be irresponsible.

The following story , in various forms, is now breaking all over the Web.
There's lots more and some of it is even worse.

The following story is also breaking on TV.

Anyone here can support whomever he wants to, that is not the issue. We
have
divided opinions about who would be the best candidate for president in
2012,
and some of us, myself anyway, would prefer a 3rd party candidate who
actually
has a chance to win and who espouses ideas similar to RC, even if this is
highly unlikely.
All of this is understood.

But we need to make it clear that Ron Paul's views and values, obviously
not all of them,
speaking of the obvious, are antithetical to Radical Centrism. This should
be made absolutely
clear. It would be extremely damaging to Radical Centrism for there to be
any kind of
link made in the public mind between our movement, just getting off the
ground, and Ron Paul
or his movement. About a number of very important issues Radical Centrism
and
"Paulista Libertarianism" are diametric opposites.

We do not need to be identified with opposition to the state of Israel.
We do not need to be identified with appeasement of the Islamic Republic
of Iran.
We do not need to be identified with racism.
We do not need to be identified with support of same-sex marriage.
We do not need to be identified with opposition to the raid that killed
Osama bin Laden

Granted, in some of these examples, RP uses evasions to mask his
positions, for instance
shifting the focus to states rights on the issue of same sex unions, but
the effect is that
he approves of such arrangements in all states which allow it. In other
words, his
moral position is immoral --or no better than amoral.

Some of his other views are reasonable enough, like tough border
enforcement and
repeal of NAFTA. Agree or disagree, these stands are in the ballpark. But
on issues
of moment the man is a loose cannon and is dangerous.

RON PAUL: A BIGOT UNMASKED BY HIS OWN WORDS

***I grant permission to anyone to take the content in this entry and
redistribute it. The truth needs to get out.***
People wonder who wrote the Ron Paul newsletters.
First, if you’re new to this topic, it’s important because for around
two decades, he had newsletters written that contained much racist content.
He financially profited off of the newsletters. You can read about it more
in depth _here_
(http://www.conservativesnetwork.com/2011/12/07/ron-paul-is-a-lying-scumbag-politician-with-borderline-sociopath-tendencies/)
  .
The purpose of this entry is to answer a simple question.
Who wrote the Ron Paul newsletters?
In a 1996 interview with the Dallas Morning News, Ron Paul was asked about
his newsletters. In that interview he defended them. You can read a copy
of the interview_ here_
(http://www.criticalreactor.com/ronpaul/newsletters/1996_Dallas_Morning_News.html)
. You can purchase a hard copy of that
interview _here_

In the interview, he did not deny he made the statement about the
swiftness of black men.
“If you try to catch someone that has stolen a purse from you, there is no
chance to catch them,” Dr. Paul said.
He also said the comment about black men in the nation’s capital was made
while writing about a 1992 study produced by the National Center on
Incarceration and Alternatives, a criminal justice think tank based in
Virginia.
Citing statistics from the study, Dr. Paul then concluded in his column:
`Given the inef! ficiencies of what DC laughingly calls the criminal justice
system, I think we can safely assume that 95 percent of the black males in
that city are semi-criminal or entirely criminal.”
“These aren’t my figures,” Dr. Paul said Tuesday. “That is the
assumption you can gather from” the report
>From this interview we gather Ron Paul knew about the content, defended
the content and wrote the content.
Before we look at internal evidence, here’s a brief sample of his
offensive sayings.
””We don’t think a child of 13 should be held responsible as a man of 23.
That’s true for most people, but black males age 13 who have been raised
on the streets and who have joined criminal gangs are as big, strong, tough,
scary and culpable as any adult and should be treated as such.
“Opinion polls consistently show that only about 5 percent of blacks have
sensible political opinions,”
“I think we can safely assume that 95 percent of the black males in that
city are semi-criminal or entirely criminal,”
“we are constantly told that it is evil to be afraid of black men, it is
hardly irrational.”

  (As if the Paulbots
care. But hey.)
Let’s look at some internal evidence.

>From the above picture we see the newsletter clearly implies it’s written
in his name. The arrow points to a sentence that is said in the first
person. This would indicate it is Ron Paul writing and not someone else.

The above picture has another first person reference. Indicating it’s not
another author.

The above includes his signature. Once again indicating he’s doing the
writing.

The above footer indicates Ron Paul is the editor of The Ron Paul
Investment Letter.
We have newsletter headings with Ron Paul’s name in bold. There are
numerous first person references in the newsletters. A footer has Ron Paul
listed
as editor of The Ron Paul Investment Letter. There is a 1996 interview
where Ron Paul defends the newsletters.
If every newsletter has Ron Paul’s name in big bold writing – if there
are overwhelming first person references – if the listed editor for The Ron
Paul Investment Letter is Ron Paul – if you have him defending the content
over and over again in 1990′s interviews – you have to conclude Ron Paul
is writing this stuff.
Of course now Ron Paul offers _this standard answer_
(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5CoQWAXuUyI&feature=youtu.be) . But we’re not
stupid.
