Uhhh, hate to say "I told you so," but how much more incompetence
from the Golfer-in-Chief will it take to make the point that Obama voters
in both 2008 and 2012 based their opinions on beliefs with little
or no substance. BHO has been over his head from the beginning
and the only reason he still is in office is because the Republicans
nominated a stuffed short to oppose him in the last election.

Obama's False Promises On Health Reform

Editorial

The Hartford Courant
2:24 p.m. EST, November 8, 2013

President _Obama_
(http://www.courant.com/topic/politics/government/barack-obama-PEPLT007408.topic)
lied, misled, misspoke — however you want to
frame it — when he said that if you liked your health care plan, you could
keep
it, period, under his _Affordable Care Act_
(http://www.courant.com/topic/health/healthcare-laws/affordable-care-act-(obamacare)-EVGAP00039.topic)
 .
In fact, plans are getting canceled that are not compliant with the ACA's
requirements of certain minimum benefits. This is a cruel surprise to many
policyholders.
Mr. Obama said Thursday that he's sorry Americans are losing their
insurance plans he'd assured them they could keep, but he didn't say he was
sorry
for making those promises.
This is far from his only problem. Sixteen senators from his own party told
the president Wednesday he's facing a "crisis of confidence" if he doesn't
fix the messed-up healthcare.gov website fast.
Even Democratic champions of the law are feeling misled about its flaws.
Sen. _Max Baucus_
(http://www.courant.com/topic/politics/government/max-baucus-PEPLT000333.topic)
of Montana told a top administration official
Wednesday, "You've got to tell us what's going on, candidly, fully ... The
more
you don't tell us, the greater the problem is going to be."
There are other examples of promises that stretched the truth to the
breaking point. Mr. Obama claimed in 2008 that the health care act would
"lower
premiums by up to $2,500 for a typical family per year." That was, to put it
politely, a "misleading" campaign promise based on what the respected
organization FactCheck.org calls "misleading math."
The ACA had enough to recommend it — including reducing the ranks of the
uninsured by 30 million, as well as guaranteeing health insurance for
everyone — without the false statements.
