Radical Centrism in German Language Quotations

The following quotations -in some cases German proverbs or idiom-
do not outline Radical Centrist philosophy per se. About which, to put it
in the simplest possible terms, what RC is all about is:
Thinking for yourself but recognizing that Left and Right -and sometimes
Other-
would not exist unless each contained some truths and healthy values.
Our task, therefore, is to identify what is good and true in both Right
and Left -and on occasion in Green views, Libertarianism, Socialism
and so forth. This also means criticizing, with full fury, the failure
of both Right and Left and anything else that deserves it.
We choose positions for ourselves issue-by-issue, We are not
social liberals + fiscal conservatives or the other way around.
In terms of social issues we mix liberal and conservative stands
based, as far as we can do so, objectively, on the merits, and
this applies equally to economic issues. Sometimes Adam Smith
is right, sometimes Keynes, sometimes neither because we believe
that America needs a new theory of markets and the economy.
We also try, whenever it can be done, to "think outside the box,"
to develop new, original, innovative ideas.
We are political Independents.
So much for our operational political philosophy. But what motivates us
as real life people?
The quotations here are culled from available German language sources
available on the Web, those with English language translations. Among all
such quotes available these demonstrate best the outlook of Radical
Centrists
as they approach life and politics and lifelong learning. These are our
'bedrock values' -and they express the overall spirit of Radical Centrism.
Most, by far, of the quotes, were originally written in German. A few
started out
as English language sayings that have since become popular in German
language
versions. As much as possible the authors of quotes are identified by name.
