I sympathize, but I think that's too narrow. The reality is that truth is 
rarely one-dimensional. There at least  two or three different views that 
oppose the majority view -- and most of them are even more wrong. :-)

I prefer triangulation: where the Left and Right disagree (or agree), try to 
find the false assumption they have in common, and the obvious truth they both 
deny.
