The new gizmo being promoted for overhead selfies should have a decent size
market. With any imagination at all, you should be able to conceive of
uses for it.
However, methinks the whole selfie boom is mostly a joke.

In the recent past I had my own TV show on local CTV. By necessity,
since in-studio tech people were in short supply, the programs I produced
were selfie shows. I set up the camera after first preparing my living room
for the purpose, and then gave a talk or showed images, etc.

After several weeks I was totally discouraged by all of this. I did my very
 best
but, face it, there is only so much you can do as a one-man-band. To say
the same thing, if a TV network had low production values, over-relied
on just one person, necessarily worked with a nano-budget, etc,
it would not be in business very long. And good riddance.

The real task simply has to be:
Finding people with a variety of talents to produce quality programs
Finding a working budget to make the most of, and
Finding the very best content to broadcast over the air.

Any other view, even if micro-drones sell a million units, it is really
stupid
to bet on selfies if you are serious about television.

Think of what you could do with a micro-drone in a professional level
studio
with professional level staff and superior content.

AirSelfie Is A Mini-Drone Made Specifically For Taking Selfies

Unfortunately it looks as if the selfie is here to stay, so you might as
well improve your selfie game. This tiny quadcopter hopes to take a few
users away from the infamous selfie stick.
The _AirSelfie_
(https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1733117980/airselfie/description)  is
small enough that it fits inside of a cellphone case.
Simply pop it out of the case and have it fly up to 66-feet away where its 5MP
camera can take pictures or video. The pictures are stored onboard with 4GB’
s of memory. Flight time is just 5 minutes which should be fine as
selfies shouldn’t last that long. They just shouldn’t!
Fly AirSelfie and control it directly through 3 different flight functions:
    *
Selfie mode, the easiest one, with just two directional buttons to make
AirSelfie move far or close to you.
    *
Selfie Motion Control mode, control AirSelfie in real time with the
virtual joystick provided by  App.
    *
Flying mode, where the device is held horizontally and replaces a classic
controller. Once you’ve found the perfect positioning for the shot,
AirSelfie stays still, thanks to the hovering function.

The AirSelfie is currently living at _Kickstarter_
(https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1733117980/airselfie/description)  and
hopes to start
shipping by March  2017.....
