Ernie:

Let's see what happens with the word "Socialism" in the next x number of months.

The Democrats are back in the saddle in the House and some Dems are now starting

the process of running for prez. If Sanders jumps in, then, for sure, we should

do something. Sanders is, of course, a self proclaimed actual Socialist

even if he is a Marxist.

The point I was trying to make is that we should not be reluctant to use the
word "Socialism."

Also, it is customary in politics that if you put the word "social" in front of
something

that everyone knows you are referring to some form of socialism. For example,

the Social Democrats (Germany, Scandinavia, are little different than

Democratic Socialists. The terminology difference mostly denotes different

emphases in policy.

I am anything but debating the worth of meritocracy. I am in favor of
meritocracy.

The suggestion was to use the word "socialism" to our advantage.

Why? Because the young, a lot of them, around 54% or some such number,

favor Socialism now. Also, I'd like to pick a fight with Sanders and

challenge him, head on, on his own political turf.

Hi Billy,

Saint-Simon's Socialism is better thought of as Social Capitalism

You may or may not remember that I was all set to start pitching Social
Capitalism to frustrated Republicans when Trump lost. When he won, Democrats
were to shellshocked to be patched on anything.

Do you think the phrase “Social Capitalism” might be able to get traction now?
Or should we go for something more like a meritocracy or competition?
