https://blog.adafruit.com/2016/04/20/congrats-ladyada-ham-license-and-getting-to-amateur-extra-adafruit-arrl-hamradio/ - /"congrats to our ladyada, she took all 3 exams at once and got some perfect scores on her HAM exams Updates! 4/19/2016 @adafruit #deskofladyada @arrl #HamRadio (video) – she had her Technician license back in high school!"/ She's got a 'Ham Sunday" video that covers installing Travis Goodspeed's firmware hacking on the Tytera MD-380 (DMR radio). There is a claim that this will be a live weekly series. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mAS3nH6wuNk The video is umm, basic on the radio side. It shows you can ace the 3 tests, but still not understand a lot until you get some practical experience to make it all sink in. The video covers unboxing the MD-380 (and building/installing the experimental firmware using Cygwin on Windows, so it could be a good intro for those who are reluctant to dive in. Adafruit has some STM32 products, so hopefully there will be good things to come at least for the electronics/hacking side. --Rob W2RCT
