FYI - There is a petition at change.org asking for more transparency at the ARRL.
https://www.change.org/p/arrl-board-of-directors-a-demand-for-transparency-at-the-american-radio-relay-league "The American Radio Relay League is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization for radio amateurs dedicated to public service, advocacy, education, technology and membership. The organization is supported with membership dues and is governed by a Board of Directors elected by the membership." Without getting into the politics, asking for more transparency, particularly for how money is allocated seems pretty reasonable. It's July 15, last year's annual report still isn't available. I don't agree with everything they are asking for, but providing more information to members are what the organization is doing, how money is being spent, and what decisions are being made sounds like a good start. Personally I think some changes at the ARRL are overdue. I don't think it's activities are attracting younger, more technically inclined people to the hobby. The primary reason I'm forwarding this, is due to a claim that this message about the petition isn't getting out because it is being censored at many of the old-line amateur radio sites. While I've signed it. I'm not asking anyone to sign. I just want to spread the word. --Rob W2RCT _______________________________________________ Radio mailing list [email protected] https://list.hackmanhattan.com/listinfo/radio
