Having set up a new Linksys wireless router on my Mac system just yesterday I can confirm that no setup CD is necessary. All you need to do is to plug the router into your mac using one of the numbered ethernet ports, and put your internet connection into the one labelled Internet. Then go to Safari and type http://192.168.1.1 into the address bar and you should get the control panel for the linksys come right up. From there you can configure lots of things but most stuff is fine with the defaults. What I do suggest you change is the router name - which is probably Linksys as default, and is a magnet for those nearby looking for free wifi - and the security - I recommend WPA Personal with a good strength password.
If you can't get to the control panel page then you could try pressing and holding the Reset button on the router for 5 seconds which should reset to the defaults and then let you in. davep -- davep ------------------------------------------------------------------------ davep's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=61 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=73258 _______________________________________________ Radio mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
