You can turn off the audio circuit when it's standby via an option in the SqueezeBox Server / Settings / Player / Audio / Turn Off Audio option. Otherwise the audio seems to turn off on it's own after a while. Between my Boom and my Radio, I think the Radio noise is a tiny bit more noticeable - but you should not be able to hear it if your ear is more then a foot away in anycase. If it's louder then that maybe you have a fault?
