Hi again I found an issue with the minimal brightness (auto) setting in 7.5 beta. Indeed it cannot go as low as when using manual brightness. You can easily see that when you go into minimal brightness and set it to the minimum, then go out of that screen and go back in. The slider is not at the minimum anymore.
I think I have a fix, but I need to double check tomorrow. Thanks for reporting that.
