Sorry to reawaken this thread, but whilst testing a few alarm scenarios (sad I know, but I did find a heap of minor issues which I'll save for another thread) I came to realise that this discussion actually has two separate elements:
* What is displayed when the alarm fires (currently the menu) * Once snooze is pressed, what "mode" you are in - ie what screen you see until the snooze fires (currently the home menu, where time is illegible) I just wanted to ask (bluegaspode?) whether the code changes that have been proposed to open this up to 3rd party apps cater for both the above. Sounded to me like it was just to allow alternates to the alarm-menu, so only deals with the first point. May seem like making a mountain out of such a small deal, but really can't overstate how important I think it is to support such basic alarm requirements. If this has to be by third-party applet then so be it, but IMHO I think these are generic alarm requirements, not obscure use-cases. * Indication that alarm is snoozing, so safe to close your eyes ! * Ability to see time whilst snoozing. Likely to be dim. Almost suggests a snooze screensaver in addition to the alarm screensaver.
