to whom did you talk to ? jmpage said he had a local 24/7 server and still facing the problem with a loud burst when the alarm starts. Though this is not the environment of the original poster - its easier to try to find out whats going on.
I know that I might have a different server/firmware-version than jmpage (but on the other hand he never wrote what version he is running). If we have different firmwares maybe that's already the secret that the bug has already been fixed on the maintenance-branch ? So I think me environment is not too far away from jmpages.
