When this issue was discussed in beta, I got the impression that user support was a concern and it was more about trying to improve the user setup experience rather than "marketing". I suspect there were support problems with the old method of entering the code displayed on player and the developers were trying to improve the process.
There was also the many user enhancement requests that the transition between SBS and squeezenetwork be more invisible (e.g. when I turn off my server I want the player to start using SN ). The easiest way to achieve this was to ensure all devices were registered to a SN network account. With the above requirements and a time constraint, a decision was made. I think there were good intentions even though I disagreed with the decision to require the user to have a mysb.com account to update firmware. -- bpa ------------------------------------------------------------------------ bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=74486 _______________________________________________ Radio mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
