And yet another update: upgrading to firmware 7.4.2-r8401 doesn't solve the problem either.
It seems like the internal RTC of the Radio lost its state (probably during the no-power period of last week) and it cannot be restored to the current time. I suspect this because the Radio kept time through the firmware upgrades (although it still thinks we're 1970 right now...)
