There has been much commentary about the unreliability of the alarm function so I just thought I would report. Last night while I was asleep the power went out at my house (I know because when I got up all the electronic clocks in the house had to be reset.) Since my radio (FW 7.4.1) has no battery back up, it also lost power.
As soon as the power came back on, it booted up. (How do I know? It gave a triumphant "doddle-dee-do-dee-do" that woke me up in the middle of the night. That, I could have done without. In my befuddled state, I did not realize the power had been out, I just thought it was the Radio exhibiting of some of its famous bugginess.) In the morning, you will be delighted to know, the alarm went off exactly as expected.
