My problem was that I did not know which of the choices actually turned the boot sound off. None of them sounded particularly applicable. I ended up trying them all. Disabling the sound for "Charging" turned out to do the job (who knew?). However, now that I have ordered the battery pack, I hope that rebooting for power loss will no longer be a problem, nor will all the other alarm unreliability variables.
