(sorry > that i cannot help programming.) > It depends, as mentioned it's very robust with a local server as long as you only want some sound at the correct time. However, in my setup with a standalone SBS on a computer I often get the fallback alarm instead of the expected playlist. The server is up and running, I suspect the problem is related to the network and that the clock isn't synchronized perfectly. Synchronized clocks are extremely important with the current solution if you like to avoid the fallback alarm.
It worked very good in 7.4.1 (when everyone else complained), but in 7.4.2 and later I often get the fallback alarm. I'm currently running the latest 7.5.1 release. Let's face it, the Radio is great as a bedside radio but if all you want is a perfect alarm clock it's not the product you should buy at the moment. However, as said above, it's very reliable to wake you up with a local server, the question is just what kind of sound it will wake you with. I'm pretty sure the problems will be solved in some way, the question is just if Logitech is going to prioritize doing it or if it will require a third party applet. My very personal guess is that we will have a working solution before the end of the year, it might be a lot earlier too but I wouldn't bet on it considering the current resource/priority/management situation within Logitech. As a music player the Radio is great, it's mainly the alarm functionality that's a bit irritating. -- erland Erland Isaksson 'My homepage' (http://erland.isaksson.info) (Install my plugins through Extension Downloader) (Developer of 'TrackStat, SQLPlayList, DynamicPlayList, Custom Browse, Custom Scan, Custom Skip, Multi Library, Title Switcher and Database Query plugins' (http://wiki.erland.isaksson.info/index.php/Category:SlimServer)) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ erland's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3124 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=78183 _______________________________________________ Radio mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
