YUPPIE! I managed to boot up my SBR! When I saw your post I started to think that maybe there's some other rescue start up procedure so I started playing with different combinations of buttons pushed along with the power button. During that I thought - maybe POWER + REW button would work again? Pushed it once - nothing, second try, nothing. Then I made a few more attempts with different timing (pushing both for 20-30 seconds, pushing them in different orders)... and you know what? My SBR booted with the old 7.4.2 firmware! I couldn't believe my eyes so I... powered it off again just to learn what I actually did that caused it to boot up :) Just as I thought, the POWER button would not work. So again I tried playing with POWER+REW and after a few (took me about a minute) tries, I managed to boot it up again.
