Continuing the Case of the Incorrect Alarm, concerning the aggravating
inclination of the radio, upon wakening, noisily playing the random
fallback alarm, rather than your selected station.

This has been my issue since getting the radio a few months ago,
continuing to occur through the update to 7.5. For months, I've had the
alarm set to go off at 7am...and to play a station. After 5-10 seconds,
I've gotten the fallback alarm (disco?!) loop, no matter what station I
set it to wake up to (mostly KLAC - the Clear Channel sports station in
L.A.).

2 days ago, a new wrinkle! On a whim, I set the alarm for 7:03am
instead of 7.

IT WORKED. No fallback alarm! No disco!

The station happened to be set to a public radio station...but it's now
worked for 2 days.

So I'm not touching it.

Anybody else have this experience? Just changing the time? Weird.

I know I haven't provided the log, but I'm assuming that, like
everybody else, something about the network connection makes the radio
think it's not working...and it fires off the fallback 10 seconds
later.

what is bizarre is that I'm starting to think it's time-of-day based!
On Saturdays, it's set for 9am and has thus far not malfunctioned. What
is it about 7am?!

Crazy that we're all forced into becoming amateur detectives for this
thing, rather than Logitech just fixing it. I started my Internet Radio
life with the Aluratek. The Squeezebox looks better, has a better
interface and doesn't have a display that lights your room like a night
game at Yankee Stadium...

but at least the Aluratek's alarm worked!

thanks,

Dave
