You could install the nightly beta versions of Squeezebox Server on your pc and it will update as they come out, but be warned that those are works-in-progress and there are bound to be problems from time to time. Overall, new fw comes out when (a) there is a "critical mass" of bug fixes and/or enhancements, and (b) it has passed the QA process. There are no fixed intervals for updates, but if you monitor the Beta forum you may get an idea of the time horizon for updates, but not fixed dates.
New firmware for the Radio is usually released shortly after updates for the other Squeezeplay-based products (Touch and SB Controller).
