That's what people are alerting you to. That said, even using mysqueezebox.com the alarm appears to work okay for some people, but not for others. So you could take a chance, and if it doesn't work for you, return it under the 30-day return policy.
One thing that I don't think anyone has mentioned is the audio quality. I have no idea how good a Pure Sensia, but I can say that the SB Radio sounds very good, even though it is monaural. And the Boom sounds simply fantastic -- it's amazing that such a small player can sound so good, especially in the lows and mids.
