I've just about had it with my Radio. Its my third device, originally bought a SB3 a few years ago, added a Squeezebox Boom then bought a radio after that.
For the last few firmware patches my radio has exhibited a daily (or more frequent) disconnect problem when it loses the connection to the server and stays that way until it is power cycled. Yes - I am using the built in wireless in the radio - it is one of the reasons I bought the device. I don't want to have a long ethernet cable trailing from my bedroom over to my office and I'm not about to start drilling holes/routing cables around. Although annoying as it was I could live with the problem since the alarms on the disconnected radio still worked. However I upgraded the firmware on the radio 2 nights ago and this morning all the alarms failed - result I only woke up when I was sent a text message and heard my phone. I did notice that the icon on the radio for the disconnected state has changed from orange to blue - so has this bit of the firmware in release 7.5.3 been "fixed" - what does the blue icon rather than orange icon signify? Is the wireless hardware inside the radio particularly flakey? I've had the unit less than 2 year - is it possible for the wireless hardware to have failed and if so has anyone have had experience of sending in the radio to logitech to be repaired? (My other wireless devices around the house laptop/SB boom/SB3/XBox360/iPhone etc seem to be able to hold a connect to my wireless network without problems). Or should I just throw the unit out and revert to old style FM clock radio? Any advice/solutions would help. -- John E Boy ------------------------------------------------------------------------ John E Boy's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=8334 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=85046 _______________________________________________ Radio mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
