I have a SB classic and a Boom and love both of them. I bought the
Radio thinking it would be a perfect bedside alarm clock-- and I was
really attracted to the display and candy-apple-red body. And in my
mind-- when you call something a radio, and make it compact and
aesthetic, its intended use as an alarm clock is implicit.

But this is not an alarm clock. For this to work as such, the controls
need to be illuminated so you don't have to fumble in the dark, and
there needs to be an easy snooze control -- something like the Boom's
where you can slap your hand down on the top (after a week of using it,
i STILL have not found the snooze function-I gather it has something to
do with pushing the middle button, but this has had mixed results).

It strikes me that Logitech has the marketing of the Boom and the Radio
reversed. The Boom is a perfect bedside alarm -- except an alarm does
not need to have the output and volume of the boom.

anyway... i thought i would return the radio and buy another boom-- but
alas, Logitech tells me that the Boom is "end of life". Now I am
wondering if i should buy one on Amazon, or wait to see if there is a
new product coming out to replace the Boom?

To Logitech's credit -- they were wonderful about me returning the
Radio.
