I'd guess the player must be able to see MySB.com to know if it is registered or not, and to which account. So if MySB.com is down it may not offer that screen.
Also, when connecting to your WiFi after a reset, it might offer your previously entered encryption passphrase, it would show up as a line of "asterisks".
