Unless Logitech decides owners of the older SliMP3, Squeezebox 1/2/3, Squeezebox Receiver, Squeezebox Boom and Transporter models aren't worth supporting any more, it won't happen soon, because the Squeezebox Server software is doing a lot more than just serving files to the players.
Even if it's not so true with the newer Radio and Touch models, Squeezebox devices are basically dumb (or "slim", lightweight client) devices, missing most the intelligence required to play a music file by themselves. Your Radio's not very much cleverer than these older devices, though. When you press its Play button, it won't open and play the music file by itself, but will just tell the server it's connected to something like: "Err, someone pressed my Play button. It's really embarrassing. Would you be kind enough telling me what to do now?". -- sebp 'Last.fm' (http://www.last.fm/user/sebp) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ sebp's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=11768 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=87688 _______________________________________________ Radio mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
