I find it fascinating that this is an issue that has not been resolved. I have 2 SBRs and one (the used one that I bought on eBay), which is upstairs at the other end of the house, works perfectly. It never loses connection, never has alarm issues, and always works the way it is supposed to! My other one (the one that I bought brand new) can't stay connected for more tham a few minutes. Now it has developed a new issue when I try to reconnect. It usually takes 2 or 3 or more attempts before it finally connects. But now, even if/when it finally does connect, everything is quiet--no sound from the navigation (no button pressed sounds or dial turn/press sounds, etc), no sound from the music/radio station, etc. The only way out of this is by a hard power off (Pressing and holding the power button). And sometimes when it finally has the connecting icon (the multi-segment circle that turns all blue when it connects) on the screen, the whole thing freezes. The ONLY way out of it is to totally unplug the unit from power. The whole thing becomes unresponsive! I have done the works: resets, router configs, update the software, etc, etc, etc. Blah, blah, blah... None of it works. I even bought a new router hoping that would fix the issue. However, my other unit just keeps going flawlessly. This tells me that it can't be the router/wireless problem-- the other unit, which is up a level and on the other side of the house, never has problems. The bad unit is about 15 feet away from the router. I think the SBR hardware is faulty. If we were to look at the lot numbers from the different wireless receivers inside the units, my guess would be that the radios that work have one lot number (or a certain "good" range), while the ones that do not work have a certain (very large) range. -- dalevandy ------------------------------------------------------------------------ dalevandy's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=39392 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=87339 _______________________________________________ Radio mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
