Yes, I didn't think of doing the search as you did, for the blind. I think for now dad prefers to read the foreign papers (online) himself, will have to have him listen to the reader services and see if he feels he can absorb the news as well or better.
He always had a very broad world when he was more active / able so I'm glad to see that he is indeed taking to some of what I have been tossing at him and in some ways opening things back up a bit for him. He was a bit freaked out the first time I started changing the streams on him (to see what he thought of the Sanskrit broadcast) from my house using the computer remote application. I told him I could do it but it still freaked him when I actually did it.
