Normally when you enter a valid URL into the dialog box and click Add, the Name of the podcast will appear on the list. If it does not, it may be that the URL you are entering is not correct. If it is not correct, nothing happens when you click Add. I have found it is often quite difficult to actually find the right URL.
What podcast are you trying to get? Perhaps we can help check the URL by trying it ourselves. I know my Podcast player works because I have multiple Postcasts that I listen to regularly.
