Hi, I'm directing this to the SqueezeBox Radio Product Manager as requested, and It'd be great for anyone else to chime in!
I'm unhappy with the change made to the way the Large Knob performs after an alarm goes off. Changes in the current firmware now require you to turn the knob 6 times before the knob registers that the turn has been made and moves to the next menu item. This is apparently only necessary in alarm mode. I think this is a terrible "feature" that flies in the face of what's intuitive. Why should the knob work differently based on one condition? That's backwards UI!! It could be made an option if it's that important to someone, but having inconsistent UI is just bad design. In thinking about this further, it really bothered me that this "feature" was added with no documentation to either end users or your own support staff. I spent over an hour of weekday time (valuable) trying to fix a problem that was actually an undocumented "feature". It totally pisses-off my girlfriend; "I hate technology when I can't shut-off the clock radio and I'm half asleep" If this is seen as a benefit, then adding an option to turn it on or off would be great, and documenting such changes might alleviate unnecessary support calls. Thanks… I'd appreciate your feedback! -- MacguyBoston ------------------------------------------------------------------------ MacguyBoston's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=50589 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=91032 _______________________________________________ Radio mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
