Talk radio is great on the Radio, even the lower bitrates. In addition to the suggested SqueezePlay software, you could just poke around the MySB web site to get a feel for station offerings.
Create a free www.MySqueezeBox.com account (you will need to do so anyways for the Radio), install the BBC App and RadioFeeds UK & Ireland App. Now navigate the web UI to Remote Control, start poking around, do some searches, etc... That will NOT play on your computer (without the SqueezePlay software) but it will give you a very good idea of expected content and menu layouts of the Radio.
