Had a quick look at the circuit board this morning. Disassembly to the point where you can see the circuit board as shown in the photo linked above is easy, but getting access to the other side will take some time as there are quite a few tight screws holding the circuit board to the fascia, and of course a couple of knobs to prise off.
After typing a few IC part numbers into Google I don't think I found the DAC. The interesting area for this discussion appears to be the area that is partially obscured in the linked photo by the small board carrying the ethernet socket and the line-in socket. The chip visible just below and to the left of that small board seems to be the Class-D amplifier, and the white socket below that on the left edge of the board is the speaker connection. Completely obscured by the small ethernet board in that photo is another chip, and although I didn't find an exact match for the part number it appears to be audio related. It is physically close to the headphone socket, which is the protrusion at the top edge of the main board. I'll take some photos and post part numbers when I get longer to play with this. -- chill ------------------------------------------------------------------------ chill's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10839 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=93125 _______________________________________________ Radio mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
