Had a quick look at the circuit board this morning.  Disassembly to the
point where you can see the circuit board as shown in the photo linked
above is easy, but getting access to the other side will take some time
as there are quite a few tight screws holding the circuit board to the
fascia, and of course a couple of knobs to prise off.

After typing a few IC part numbers into Google I don't think I found
the DAC.  The interesting area for this discussion appears to be the
area that is partially obscured in the linked photo by the small board
carrying the ethernet socket and the line-in socket.  The chip visible
just below and to the left of that small board seems to be the Class-D
amplifier, and the white socket below that on the left edge of the
board is the speaker connection.

Completely obscured by the small ethernet board in that photo is
another chip, and although I didn't find an exact match for the part
number it appears to be audio related.  It is physically close to the
headphone socket, which is the protrusion at the top edge of the main
board.

I'll take some photos and post part numbers when I get longer to play
with this.
