I have a feeling that the settings page for that would become extremely complex. To make the feature complete, you would need to be able to set up all possible sync group combinations, and then configure the channel mode for each unit for each of these combinations of synchronized units.
It would quickly become unmanagable for the average user, and very complex for the developers to make to begin with.
