There are so many that voice their opinions here. So I will too :) I understand that that Logitech needs to move on they have killed off the SB brand by neglecting it. And to some extent also that in the process they need to cut off the IP3K devices as they are too low-power to handle a lot of the streaming services without significant server-ressources. But there are a couple of design-decisions that I simply do not understand. Putting the server in the cloud and avoiding the issues a local server seems smart in a no-brainer customer-base. But then why didn't they eliminate the local server entirely. Replacing it with UPNP in the same way as Sonos, or rely on SMB/file sharing? And if they are only going to have players that have a fairly powerful cpu, why not make it more self-contained than LMS/SB?
Oh, and we all assume that there are going to be more devices and that UE Smart has a long future ahead of it. But the url is called uesmartradio.com like the device. This could be an indication that this is just a short-lived "revitalization" of an old product. --- The people panicking and writing that they will leaves these forums as of now. I have zero respect for that. I myself am going to stick with SB for the time being. As long as I can play my local files, internet radio and Spotify, i have no reason to look for other solutions to my audio-needs, UE or otherwise. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Muele's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=21310 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=96188 _______________________________________________ Radio mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
