A similar situation happened with Reciva - one day the 'official' forum
was gone.  Some of us had already set up an alternative forum which we
were able to quickly scale up.  Admin is a problem - keeping out
spammers, etc. What happened was that essentially only the die-hard
Reciverists use the forum - lots of other users just disappeared. 
Still, the old spirit of cooperation continues ...
