If it -is- still possible to install a plugin then I think many of us will breathe a sigh of relief! Half of the issue for many is the loss of plugin functionality like random play, last.fm, BBC iPlayer etc
The fact that you still can install plugins doesn't help with the problem that many plugins would no longer work, as they were designed to control the player in some way, or get information out of the player object. This is no longer the possible, as all player control happens in the uesr.com backend. This is the reason why the Random Play plugin doesn't work any more. It's not been removed deliberately.
Surely there would then need to be a "Last.fm scrobble" check box on the UE web site. Is there one?
