One of the Logitech developers said that it won't officially be
possible, probably because a number of reasons:
- It doesn't make sense for Logitech to officially offer a downgrade
path as they want people to use the UE products not get stuck with
Squeezebox products
- I think there are some small hardware differences between the
Squeezebox Radio and the UE Smart Radio and this could probably result
in that the Squeezebox Radio firmware isn't working properly with the UE
Smart Radio.

I think it's better that we try to convince Logitech to add back the
missing stuff to the UE products so we dare to switch and maybe even can
convince them to also offer and upgrade path for the Touch. 

One of the most important things for them to add back is to support
installation of third party plugins/applets, as this will make it
possible for third party developers to add back the stuff Logitech don't
want to add themselves. I started thread about this in the official UE
support forum, so if people agree, please post your thoughts in the
