Already did that - it asked if I wanted to update when I first connected it to my network, and I let it. I have since done several factory resets and reconfigurations, and have already installed the firmware (same one that's on there now), with the same results. I'm surprised nobody's seen this happen before; if it happens right outta the box, I'd think it'd be a common occurrence. I ran the front-panel diagnostic, and all the buttons/knobs are working properly (the volume press and turn left/right are registering).
