Seems you are using channel 9 (which is fine if it works). Channels 1, 6, 11 are the best channels to use if possible as they don't overlap with nearby channels. All other channels overlap with adjacent channels. On a windows machine, one can use inSSIDer or netstumbler or similar free program to easily see the nearby WIFI networks and the channels they are using.
