My 0.02$ simple Eq makes sense in self contained systems like boom or radio .
but not in other source components ? No one argues that a CD player should have EQ , th rigth place is in the speakers or amp . Corner case one source systems like secondary squeezbox systems with not so good speakers or acoustics .
