Hi all, I have a UE Smartradio that I recently converted to run on Squeezebox. The radio has a bit of history in that after a few months of owenrship it started to exhibit strange behaviour. It would switch itself on very early in the morning even though there was no alarm set, and tuned to a German radio station. All my favourites were repeatedly replaced with a bunch of German stations and my presets would constantly be reprogrammed. It would also occasionally become unresponsive or would exhibit pulsing volume until powered off and rebooted.
I figured that there may have been an issue like a duplicate MAC address and some poor lad in Germany was having the same issues. Several factory resets didn't resolve anything so I put it away for a few months. I took it down and tried again and it seemed to be ok. It was still a bit flaky in that 2 out of 3 times on powering on it wouldn't connect to my WiFi without either running Network Repair or manually reconnecting to the network. But it was manageable and it was fine for several months. After several days last week with the UESmartradio server down I eventually managed to connect and switch to Squeezebox. Upon registering it told me that this device is registered to an email address, a German one no doubt, so alarm bells started ringing, but I registered my own account to it. But it behaved fine for a couple of days, apart from the on screen display changing to German once or twice. But today all hell has broken loose. I guess my German friend is using his radio today. My favourites were all German stations, as to were my presets. It was almost comical, I'd switch to one of my stations, the radio would switch to a German one pretty much straight away. I'd switch back, it would switch again, and so on. Then I had the pulsing volume issue. Tried a factory reset and reinstalling the latest software, seemed to be ok for a while but still the occasional odd behaviour. At the moment it's at its most stable it has been all day, I guess because the German guy through his radio out the window and under a bus, or something. I still get my radio and Spotify streams randomly pausing and stopping. I guess the reason why mine was ok for so long before switching to Squeezebox was because the German radio was converted to Squeezebox while mine was still a Smartradio, so no conflicts. But now that we're both on Squeezebox is seems like I'm back to square one all over again.
