I don't fully get the point. Is your idea to bring your own Radio to your friend's house? I mean... with all the hassle to enter a WiFi-code on the Radio that must be much more difficult than just connecting your iPhone to soma analog input... But if your friends _do_ already have a Squeezebox, they need to operate it themselves, don't they? And then they will surely quickly find out that this works much better with a local server. Let's get this straight: for a new product nobody would propose something fully dependent on an external server in your home anymore and in fact most new projects for Squeezebox-compatible hardware that I've seen recently do come with the server included (like with the Touch, just that even cheap hardware is much more capable these days). But you can't change the old devices and the Squeezebox system as it is requires a server. Changing that would mean developing a whole new product which would no longer be compatible. --- learn more about iPeng, the iPhone and iPad remote for the Squeezebox and Logitech UE Smart Radio as well as iPeng Party, the free Party-App, at penguinlovesmusic.com *New: iPeng 8, the Universal App for iOS 7 and iOS 8* ------------------------------------------------------------------------ pippin's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=13777 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=103277 _______________________________________________ Radio mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
