Yep it is certainly is going back, but I like to learn and it doesn't hurt to ask in case someone can shed some further light on troubleshooting such a problem. Yeah I also think it might be a headphone jack problem, dirty or broken contact(s) within the jack or bad connections onto the circuit board, but I'd rather send it back than open it up.
