Of course, that actually works. It doesn't explain why/how it's happening. But it got me a complete .UBI image. I tried using an Ubuntu 10.x container, and the build failed when getting freetype-2.4.2.tar.bz2. A strange error that I don't understand being related to the underlying OS version.
