You could try installing a Unifi AP-AC Lite access point. I have four of them and the Wi-Fi is rock solid. They make very good and affordable 'prosumer' kit which has transformed our house Wi-Fi and we now have 40 clients (iOS, Android, IOT etc etc) and nothing fails. You will need to run the Unifi Controller to manage the devices but that is available free in the cloud or you can buy a dedicated Unifi controller device or run it on an RPi as I do. A real 'command and control' dashboard on your PC that is also fun to use.
