Ahh - so it's likely sample-rate related? Odd, but sort-of-graspable....... I did try switching from the bass-deprived BBC R4 on Sounds plug-in to R3 and to France Culture, but that didn't work.... Not sure whether those two sample-rates would be markedly different. The FLAC track would assuredly be so.
