Why use more than 2 if 2 cover the whole area adequately? The backhaul is ethernet, not wireles , and they are essentially one covering the front and once towards the back. Other than the separate AP for the 'old things', everything else connects to this 'mesh' (i.e, one SSID) and works perfectly. I thus see no need for the visual clutter, power use, and general hassle of more units, to be honest? One can easily stream 4K (indeed multiple streams) anywhere in the house wirelessly and for me that's about as much as we need right now... Re: SBs, all the ones at the back are wired, as that area was renovated and I put in a fair bit of ethernet. The front, which is a somewhat restored 'Victorian' (~1890) thing, did not get wired, so its just the two booms and the scale that live in the bedrooms. I never found roaming to work properly until this one SSID set up. Now devices switch automatically to the nearest (strongest) unit at either 5 or 2.4 all automatically. I can't say I've looked into it too much, other than some tests to confirm I can take the same device anywhere in the house and stream 4k (indeed, can do this for a decent bit of the garden too...) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ bossanova808's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=619 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=112167 _______________________________________________ Radio mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
