I got tired of the problem and just bought a TP-Link AV600 Powerline Ethernet Adapter set from Amazon. One wall-mounted unit is wired at the router location and the other is plugged in and connected to the Squeezebox with an Ethernet cable.
For $37, I got rid of wireless.
